Privacy Policy

At Snappy Innovation Inc. (“Snappy”, “we” or “us”), our goal of creating a Platform to enabling Internet of Things technologies and connecting Customers and Merchants (collectively, “Users” or “you”) requires us to collect and retain information about Users.

We take privacy seriously and will take reasonable steps to protect this information. We will not disclose any personal information without the consent of Users.This Privacy Policy (the “Policy”) sets out how we use, protect, collect and preserve information submitted by Users. Any capitalized terms not specifically defined in the Policy have the same meaning as defined in the Terms of Use, which are available on the Platform and should be read in conjunction with the Policy.

By submitting and accessing information through the Platform, you are agreeing to the terms of the Policy.

‍You are prohibited from using the Platform unless you fully understand and agree to the Terms of Use and the Policy. 

If you have any questions about the Terms of Use or the Policy, please contact Snappy by sending an email with your questions before accessing or entering any information on the Platform.

1. Identifying Information About Users We Collect and Store

When you choose to create an account with Snappy and use the Platform, we will collect and retain all identifying information submitted to us.

Identifying information includes but is not necessarily limited to:

  • Your name;
  • Your email address;
  • Your mobile telephone number; and
  • Your age.

We will not use this identifying information to contact you for any reason unrelated to your use of the Platform.  Except with your consent or where required by law, we will not provide your identifying information to any third party.

 We will not use your identifying information for commercial reasons unrelated to Snappy.

2. Collection of Personal Information

In order to facilitate their interactions on the Platform, Users are able to upload personal information. Users should only upload personal information to the extent that such information enhances their experience of using the Platform. Users should not upload any personal information which they are uncomfortable having disclosed publicly.


3. Additional Data Collected by Snappy

To learn about your experience as a User and to make periodic improvements to the Platform and our Service, we collect and retain information routinely collected by web browsers and mobile devices. We will automatically record information about your activity on the Platform. This may include your Internet Protocol address, operating system, geolocation information, locale preferences, identification numbers associated with your computers and mobile devices, your mobile carrier, date and time stamps associated with transactions, system configuration information, metadata, and other electronic interactions with Snappy, our Platform and Service.

We may save your user ID and login password for future logins to the Platform if you choose to use this feature.

 You can instruct your computer or device, by changing its options, to limit or control the type of information submitted to Snappy and the types of permissions and access Snappy has to your device or computer. However, changing a setting may result in you not being able to use the Platform, either in its entirety or certain features.

Snappy may use the data collected from the Platform, devices, browsers, and any other sources, for its own purposes, both related to and unrelated to improving the Platform and the Service. In the event we disclose this data to any third-party for any purpose, it will be used anonymously and stripped of any and all personal or identifying information.

4. Removing Your Personal Information

If you want us to permanently delete your personal information from our servers at any time, please send an email to support@gosnappy.io. We will ensure your personal information is deleted in a reasonable time after receiving that request. Deleting such information may require us to terminate your account in its entirety and prevent you from using the Platform.
So long as your account remains active, we will preserve your personal information in accordance with the Policy.
If you have not accessed your account for a total of three years, we will delete your account, without notice, along with any personal information retained by us.
When deleting your information, whether by request or due to inactivity, we will use standard electronic means to remove your personal information from our files, including known backups containing personal information.
We will also retain any and all information that we are required to retain under any applicable laws for the full duration of time required under those laws.

5. Keeping Your Information Secure

We will store your information only in electronic format on industry-standard servers that we have selected. Our servers may be located outside of Canada, and thus are potentially subject to the privacy and security laws in force in other countries.  Except where required to do so by law, we will not store your personal information in any physical or paper-based format. If you have concerns about your personal information being stored electronically in foreign jurisdictions, please contact us before proceeding to use the Platform.

The servers we select to store information engage security software and generally accepted standards to protect personal information. The software used by these servers is intended to prevent unauthorized access or improper use.

However, no security system is perfect and there is always a risk of unauthorized parties accessing your personal information. Therefore, Snappy makes no guarantees or representations as to the technical or legal compliance of its servers. We cannot guarantee the complete protection and security of your personal information. 

6. Security Breaches

In the event the personal information of a User is disclosed as the result of any breach of security of the Platform or its servers, regardless of who is at fault, Snappy will take steps to advise all known affected Users within one week of learning of the breach.

7. Using Third-Party Applications

Snappy cannot control or dictate how any third-party application you use in conjunction with the Platform, now or at any point in the future, including Facebook (www.facebook.com) or Stripe (www.stripe.com), will treat any personal information you transmit through their servers when using the Platform. We advise you to contact those parties directly to review their privacy policies.

Snappy uses Stripe’s payment processing technology for all payments made and received by Users on the Platform. Snappy does not access or store Users’ credit card information.

In order to provide an enhanced experience to Users, certain features of the Platform may now or in the future connect with Facebook and other third-party applications. By using these third-party application to interact with the Platform, Snappy will not be given access to your login credentials, user name, password, or any information you may provide directly to these applications.

8. Disclosure of Personal Information in Testimonials and User-Generated Content

At times we may ask you to submit Testimonials and/or other Content to describe your experience using Snappy. If you choose to submit any Content, including Testimonials, you hereby explicitly consent to Snappy publicly disclosing on the Platform certain basic personal information, such as your name, and age. Users are solely responsible for the Content they create and must ensure all information contained with the Content is appropriate for public disclosure.

9. Snappy is not Intended for Children

The services offered on the Platform are not intended to be accessed by children. Snappy does not engage in any marketing efforts aimed at children.  

Persons under the age of 18 and over the age of 13 are permitted to use the Platform with the express permission of a parent or guardian. We take precautions to protect the safety and information of persons under the age of 18 by limiting their ability to use the social functions of the Platform.

10. GDPR

‍For users in the European Union, we adhere to the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016, known as the General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR"). For users in the United Kingdom, we adhere to the GDPR as enshrined in the Data Protection Act 2018.

We have not appointed a Data Protection Officer as we do not fall within the categories of controllers and processors required to appoint a Data Protection Officer under Article 37 of the GDPR.

‍We collect and process personal data about users in the EU only when we have a legal basis for doing so under Article 6 of the GDPR.

We rely on the following legal basis to collect and process the personal data of users in the EU:

• Users have provided their consent to the processing of their data for one or more specific purposes.

Your Rights as a User

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights:

• Right to be informed;

• Right of access;

• Right to rectification;

• Right to erasure;

• Right to restrict processing;

• Right to data portability; and

• Right to object.
